The world is experiencing an economic crisis of an exceptional gravity and scope. It goes without saying that such a crisis involves considerable social and economic costs in the short term. But we can look at this crisis differently; the world is undergoing significant changes in the distribution of economic activity and the patterns of growth. Production and consumption, but also savings and investment have shifted away from traditional industrialized economies and moving towards the new emerging world. In order to overcome the actual crisis the world economy has to start growing again. There is agreement around the policy leaders of the world that a key ingredient to any credible growth plan is entrepreneurship. The world needs entrepreneurs to discover new opportunities for growth and new markets to develop. Only through these new ventures the economic system will be able to correct its structural weakness and find again the way to prosperity.

Following the success of the previous two series, the Ramon Areces Foundation jointly with IE Business School has invited again a series of worldwide expert on entrepreneurship to present us their ideas. This activity is part of the collaboration agreement that exists between the two institutions. Once again the speakers has been chosen not only because of their academic excellence, but also for their proven ability to apply the results of their research to policy issues and to communicate their ideas to the general public.

Given the international character of both the speakers and the themes addressed, the official language of the conferences will be English, but a service of simultaneous translation into Spanish will always be available.
