Laura Crespo is Research Economist at the DG Economics, Statistics and Research of the Banco de España, where she is currently Unit Head of the Survey of Household Finances Unit within the Department of Structural Analysis and Microeconomic Studies.

Laura Crespo is Research Economist at the DG Economics, Statistics and Research of the Banco de España, where she is currently Unit Head of the Survey of Household Finances Unit within the Department of Structural Analysis and Microeconomic Studies. She specialises in the design, production, and use of survey data as part of the team that conducts the Spanish Survey of Household Finances (EFF). Previously, she was a senior researcher at CEMFI, where she was in charge of the implementation of the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) in Spain as part of the Spanish country team. Laura obtained her Ph.D in Economics from the Universidad de Alicante and holds an M.Sc in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra. During her graduate studies she was granted research fellowships from the Fundación Ramón Areces and the Marie Curie Training Site Programme of the European Commission. She also was research assistant and affiliate Ph.D student at the Centre for Applied Microeconometrics, University of Copenhagen.

In addition of her methodological interests in the design and implementation of survey data collection, she does empirical research in the fields of labour economics, economics of ageing and family economics broadly defined.
