The Ramón Areces Foundation reinforces its collaboration with Nobel Prize Outreach. The new agreement provides for the production of the podcast series ‘Nobel Prize Talks’ , which hosts interviews with some of the 2021 laureates and the celebration at our headquarters in Madrid of the conference entitled: "Imagination at work.”
The Board of Trustees of the Ramón Areces Foundation unanimously appoints Marta Álvarez Guil as chairwoman. Marta Álvarez has been chairwoman of El Corte Inglés since July 2019 and patron of the Ramón Areces Foundation since 2015. This appointment brings together the presidencies of both institutions, just as her father, Mr. Isidoro Álvarez, did for more than 25 years.
The Foundation allocates 2.3 million euros for 22 research projects in Life and Matter Sciences. 71.6% of the resources were allocated to fight against diseases.
The Spanish Commission of Military History (CEHISMI), with the sponsorship of the Ramón Areces Foundation, starts the research project entitled "The Military at the embassy". The research works will be carried out in 2021 and 2022. The publication of the work is scheduled for the first half of 2023.
The Foundation launches its podcast channel to enhance its audiovisual resources, attract new public profiles in different time zones and places, and promote the knowledge among society in areas such as History, Physics, Mathematics, and Universe and Earth exploration.
The 2019 Nobel Prizes in Physics, Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz, discoverers in 1995 of the first exoplanet, explain how their discoveries allowed to expand the knowledge of the Universe.

The Foundation awards €216,000 to 6 research projects in Social Sciences. The awardees are Spanish researchers under the age of 40.
The Foundation's Board of Trustees appoints Professor Emilio Bouza Santiago as president of the Scientific Council, in replacement of Professor Federico Mayor Zaragoza. Likewise, the Foundation appoints Mr. Augusto Delkader Teig as vice-president of the Council of Social Sciences.
