Research Support Programs

The Ramón Areces Foundation coordinates its Research Support Programs through national competitions open to teams from the whole national territory.

Life and Matter Sciences Grants are convened every two years, while Social Sciences Research Grants are convened every year. In both cases, they are multi-year projects that last three years. In 2020 were underway 92 investigations in Life and Matter Sciences, corresponding to the grants awarded in 2016 and 2018, and 32 Social Sciences projects awarded in 2018, 2019 and 2020.  

The total amount granted to these projects is €11,673,443. In 2020, the amount of €1,927,022 was disbursed. 

577 Spanish researchers have been working on the projects and have published 434 articles in prestigious scientific publications, 259 communications in national congresses, and 372 communications in international congresses. 

Aiming that these grants represent a stimulus to promote research carried out by highly qualified professionals, the institution cedes to researchers the intellectual or industrial property rights that may derive from it, in addition to the financial endowment.
