During 2019, the Foundation has continued to work on its agreement network with prestigious national and international academic institutions and foundations in order to share resources, expand its activity sectors and develop new content. It is worth highlighting the agreements with the London School of Economics, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Royal Spanish Society of Physics, the Royal Spanish Mathematical Society, the Botín Foundation and the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel.
In 2019, the Fundación Ramón Areces signed collaboration agreements with the Molecular Diseases Diagnosis Center (CEDEM) and the Sant Joan de Déu Foundation in Barcelona to carry out a pilot project on the implementation of genetic newborn screening in Spain. We also signed an agreement with the University of Zaragoza to sponsor the exhibition: Santiago Ramón y Cajal. 150 years in the University of Zaragoza. The exhibition was co-curated by one of the most brilliant fellows of the Fundación Ramón Areces, Alberto Jiménez Schuhmacher, researcher at the IIS Aragón.
