Annual Meeting of fellows and researchers

In December, the Foundation held the traditional annual meeting of fellows and researchers, attended by representatives of the scientific and academic communities, and other institutions the Foundation collaborated with throughout the year.

The meeting was attended by the members of the Board of Trustees and the Foundation's advisory councils (Scientific Council and Social Science Council).

The president of the Board of Trustees, Florencio Lasaga, made a brief review of the activity of the Foundation in 2019 and anticipated some of the future action lines. Undoubtedly one of the most remarkable activities of 2019 was the celebration at our headquarters of the first The Nobel Prize Dialogue to be held for the first time other European country than Sweden. This was the result of the agreement between the Nobel Foundation and the Fundación Ramón Areces.

The president appreciated the awards given to the institution by the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, the Carlos de Amberes Foundation and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which, he said, are an incentive to keep working with enthusiasm in everything that makes up the purposes of the Foundation. The most important of them being to strengthen the science system of our country.
