The programme is aimed at professionals who possess at least an undergraduate qualification and who are working in business, academia, national and local governments in Spain, and research centres.
Places are limited to 25 participants for the 3 days programme and will be taught in English, for which each candidate must have a high level. Successful candidates will be offered a place on merit by a Selection Committee consisting of representatives of LSE and Fundación Ramón Areces who will meet by 14th May.

The first day of this Masterclass begins with Dr Esther Canónico; she will do an Introduction to main concepts & theories of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, with a focus on gender. It includes research on contributing factors to diversity / homogeneity in the workplace, benefits / drawbacks of diversity, and practices to promote it. Then there will be Interactive session where participants discuss their reaction to taking the implicit attitude test (IAT). It includes discussion of IAT and outcomes of implicit attitudes at work. Participants’ preparation: Participants need to complete two IATs online before the session. They should choose the one they think will be easiest and the one they are most afraid to take. They must bring results with them. The final session will be Group dynamics: Interactive session where participants work in groups and experience the effects of cohesiveness on group performance. Includes exercise and debrief with theoretical background.
The second day Dr Hyun-Jung Lee will focus on the Cultural Diversity. As the world is becoming increasingly interconnected, cross-cultural knowledge, skills and capabilities are now required to individuals at all levels. Our day starts by examining the different thinking style that might provide obstacles for understanding each other of different cultural background. We will then go deeper in investigating what my own constraints of cross-cultural understanding and how to develop cultural intelligence. This is an intellectual and experiential forum for developing inter-cultural knowledge and skills, and involves the study of cross-cultural management theories and practices in the context of multicultural and international business environment.
The third day, Dr Nadia Millington will focus on Social Innovation. The day starts with exploring the concepts of social entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship and innovative business solutions to GDI challenges globally. We will then explore, design thinking principles of innovative problem solving and you will be guided through an iterative design process to solve a social problem, culminating in a short pitch of the solutions at the end of the exercise. A key benefit of this course for participants will be the opportunity to discover and build their understanding of design thinking as a means of seeking an effective, human-centred focus to creative problem solving.
